How we work
People keep your books. Software keeps them quick.
Every transaction is categorized by a person. Every account is reconciled by a person. Every judgement call that shapes your financial statements is a person's, and it stays that way.
We also build our own software — the way an accountant reached for a calculator. It fetches, matches, and sorts, so the hours our people spend on your books go to the decisions rather than the data entry. It has no say in how your books are kept.
That is a large part of why we cost less than firms doing this the old way. The rest is that we have no sales team, no offices, and no investors to repay — so the price is the price, published, without a negotiation.

No per-transaction counting and no surprise invoices. We bill on a trailing three-month average, so one unusually big month doesn't move your tier.

Questions people actually ask
Who actually does the work?
People do. Your transactions are categorized by a person and your accounts are reconciled by a person. We build our own software to take the fetching and sorting off their desk, but it has no say in how your books are kept — every judgement call is a person's.
How are you cheaper than everyone else?
We have no sales team, no offices, and no investors to repay, and our own tooling keeps data entry off our people's hands. We also publish our prices instead of running a quote process, which removes the cost of selling to you. We're newer than the firms we're cheaper than — that's part of the answer too.
Do I need QuickBooks already?
Yes. We work inside your QuickBooks Online file with accountant access, so the ledger stays yours and nothing is migrated. Your QuickBooks subscription isn't included in our price. If you're not on QuickBooks yet, we'll help you get set up before we start.
What if my books are a mess, or years behind?
That's normal and it's fixable. We'll review your file for free and quote the catch-up work separately — it starts at $199 per month of back books. Once you're current, the monthly subscription takes over.
Do you do my taxes?
No. We don't prepare or file returns, and we don't run payroll. What we do is keep the books clean and closed so that whoever does your taxes isn't reconstructing the year in March.
Who has access to my financial data?
The bookkeeper assigned to your account, and the people who support them. We connect through QuickBooks' accountant access, which you grant and can revoke yourself at any time from your own QuickBooks account.
What happens if I want to leave?
You tell us, and we stop. There's no long-term contract and no exit fee. The QuickBooks file was always yours — you revoke our access and everything we did stays in your books.
Is my business too small, or too unusual, for this?
Almost certainly not. We work with trades, retail, e-commerce, agencies, restaurants, real estate, and nonprofits. If your situation genuinely doesn't fit, we'll say so on the call rather than take you on.
